Our customer, Pribuss Mechanical Engineering of South San Francisco, requested Nichols to provide unit pricing to core drill over 2,000 holes at various sizes for the new plumbing building retrofit. This structure has concrete slab with beams below and the layout is critical to fit the piping into the new walls as laid out. The cores were to be 4″ deep. We cored through the slab and had to shave off one inch of the beam below requiring greater water control and additional patience to provide our customer with what they need. All open holes were to be covered upon completion as required, and the concrete slurry water and cores need to be brought down to a disposal site provided by the general.
